Persona 5 Strikers is Getting an English-Language Release
Posted by Paolo Arciga December 09, 2020

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers was released in Japan just last February 20, and since then, fans all over the world awaited the announcement of its international release. The game was first teased by Atlus in 2018, tentatively named Persona 5 S, leading many to believe that it might be a Nintendo Switch port for Persona 5

As we’ve come to find out, that wasn’t exactly the case, because while Persona 5 Scramble was made playable on the Switch, it’s an entirely different game. In 2019, Atlus revealed more details for the game, showing that it was a musou game being co-produced with Koei Tecmo. Switch owners were understandably disappointed that it wasn’t a P5 Switch port, but it wasn’t all bad news as fans soon realized that P5S is a bona fide sequel to Persona 5

.

Fast forward to the longest year ever that is 2020, Persona fans had been dreading every day that a Western release announcement for P5S had not yet arrived. It’s a sequel to P5 and it’s playable on the Switch and PS4, so its Western release should be a no-brainer for Atlus, right? Just when international fans began to lose all hope that P5S would ever hit the shelves in their languages, Atlus finally threw us a bone and revealed that the Western release is indeed coming on February 23, 2021.

Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers, now given the shorter, catchier name Persona 5 Strikers, will feature an English audio option and like the Japanese release, it’ll be playable on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Staying true to the game’s catchy theme song that goes “You’ll never see it comiiiiiiiiiing”, the announcement for P5S’s Western release comes with an awesome surprise: it’ll also be released for PC via Steam. It’s true, I never did see it coming.

You can pre-order the game on its three platforms starting December 11, 8:00 AM Philippine Time. If you’re looking for more details on Persona 5 Strikers, you can check out its official English site as well as our previous coverage of the game at the time of its Japanese release.
