All announcements Acer made at next@Acer

Acer just finished their annual press conference, next@Acer, and they announced new computers and peripherals. From additions to the Swift and Spin family to massive additions to the Nitro and the Predator series, it’s looking to be an exciting year for Acer.

Without further ado, here are all the announcements:

Acer Swift 5

The Acer Swift 5 was the first laptop featured at the press conference. It features a 15.6” FHD IPS Touchscreen Display. Compared to its predecessor, the Swift 5 has a bigger screen and smaller bezels while also packing a larger battery. They’ve managed to keep it still weighing less than 1kg, living up the Swift family name.


Acer Chromebook Spin 13

The Acer Chromebook Spin 13 has a powerful Intel 8th Gen Core processor in a metal chassis with a 360-degree hybrid hinge and a Corning Gorilla Glass touchpad. Making for the most powerful Chromebook, so far.


Acer Chromebook Tab 10

Targeted to help classrooms, the Acer Chromebook Tab 10 is all about the Google Expeditions AR. It also has a Built-in Wacom EMR (Electro-Magnetic Resonance) Stylus and managed by Chrome Management Console.


Acer Nitro 50 and Nitro VGO

The Nitro family expands, with the Acer Nitro 50 desktop PC and Nitro VGO monitor. The Acer Nitro 50 is a desktop PC powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, and has Qi Wireless Charging pad. While the Nitro VGO is a 144Hz display for the Nitro gaming line.


Predator Helios 300 special edition and Helios 500

They announced a special edition white-gold for their most popular gaming laptop, the Predator Helios 300. The change isn’t just color though as it is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i7-Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, and the screen has a 144Hz refresh rate. Acer will also have a headset, mouse, mousepad, and backpack with the same theme.

While they also announced the bigger brother of the Helios 300, the Predator Helios 500. It is a highly powerful gaming laptop powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i9+ 8950HK Processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB GDDR5, and has a 144Hz Refresh Rate with NVIDIA G-SYNC monitor.


Predator Orion 3000 and 5000

Along with the Nitro 50, Acer announced the Predator Orion 3000 and Orion 5000 desktop pcs. The first of which is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i7+ 8700 Processor, DDR4 2666MHz memory, and a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080.  While the Predator Orion 5000 is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i7+ 8700K Processor and has Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080 Ti SLI.

Both the Orion 3000 and 5000 has EMI-Compliant DIY Adaptable Chassis and the 5000 has IceTunnel 2.0 airflow system.


Predator Cestus 510

Laptops and desktop PCs weren’t the only things they announced though as they also unveiled a new mouse, the Predator Cestus 510.

They boast it to be all about total control. It is the first mouse to have dual Omron Switches, and up to 16,000 DPI and 400 IPS. Along with these, it has 8 programmable buttons.


Predator hard case

They showcased (pun intended) the Predator hard case to securely bring your gaming gear. It is watertight, crushproof, and dustproof and has two pick ‘n’ pluck polyethylene foam layers.


Predator X

Lastly, they mentioned about the Acer Predator X which according is said to be powered by dual Xeon processors, the Intel workstation chip, Xeon. Not much else has been announced about the gaming machine.
