AOC Agon Gaming Monitors Powers IeSF Esports World Championship
Posted by Martin Patino on December 15, 2018

This year’s IeSF Esports World Championship, held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, last November 9-11, saw several teams from 37 countries compete in the tournament’s three headline titles League of Legends, Tekken 7, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Powering the competition was AOC and their Agon G2590PX gaming monitor, the official monitor for the 2018 IeSF Esports World Championship.

The AOC Agon G2590PX gaming monitor was chosen by the officials of the IeSF due to it being purpose-built for gaming at a professional level. The monitor features a 24.5-inch full HD (1920 x 1080) display, a 144Hz refresh rate, a 1ms response time, and support for AMD FreeSync. These features combine for a blur-, lag-, and screen tear-free experience, which is exactly what professional gamers need to be able to compete at the highest level.

The Agon G2590PX is also equipped with AOC Shadow Control, which allows players to easily manage the monitor’s contrast in areas of the screen that are either overly bright or dark.

At the 2018 IeSF World Championship, South Korea ended up taking the top prize for the eight time while Finland and Saudi Arabia landed 2nd and 3rd place, respectively. Notably, out of 37 countries participating at the event, the team from the Philippines landed in 10th place after the conclusion of the tournament.

This isn’t the first time AOC was selected to serve as the official monitor partner for a major esports event. Earlier this year, AOC monitors also powered WESG Oceania 2018, the regional qualifying tournament covering Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific islands for the 2018 WESG World Finals. Additionally, AOC also sponsored the UK Esports Awards that was held back in July.
