Artifact will be the first of many new games from Valve

Gaming icon and Valve’s co-founder Gabe Newell mentioned in an interview with PC Gamer that Artifact is only one of several new games to come from the company. He has made it clear that Valve is getting back into the game making business. Half-Life 3 confirmed? It’s still too early to tell, but we remain optimistic. No details have been revealed about other upcoming titles so far, which is a tad bit disappointing to say the least.

Gamers are speculating that Valve is saving announcements for a big E3 show this June. Throughout the past couple of days, the internet has been going crazy about Artifact, a brand new card from Valve. The Artifact subreddit gained a ton of subscribers since news broke out just a couple days ago.

Fans are rightfully excited about the upcoming title. Richard Garfield, the legendary creator of Magic: The Gathering, the undisputed greatest trading card game of all time, is reportedly leading the Artifact development team. Though the card game is set in the Dota universe, and many well-known heroes will be making an appearance in the game, new original characters will also be introduced when Artifact releases.

The game will be headlining Valve’s show at E3 this June, and the game is expected to release late this year, with a mobile platform release happening in 2019.
