Blizzard wants your feedback on Brigitte, Overwatch’s newest hero

Earlier this week, Blizzard revealed the 27th hero of Overwatch — Brigitte Lindholm. As the first unique Overwatch hero who is sort of a hybrid between a Support and a Tank (but still primarily a support hero), Brigitte will most likely shake up the current metagame, both in casual and competitive play. Currently, Brigitte is playable in the Overwatch PTR servers.

But because of her potential to make a big impact in the game, Overwatch QA Lead, Lance Powell, posted on the official Overwatch forum that they will survey a select number of players regarding their thoughts on Brigitte.

In the post, he said:

“As we continue to fine tune Brigitte, we wanted to get a bit of extra feedback from our players. So, during the PTR, we’ll be randomly selecting a limited number of people (who have participated in the Public Test Region) to receive a short survey. The survey should only take about 5 minutes to complete and will not ask for any personal or sensitive information.”

While new Overwatch heroes have always been tested first on the PTR servers, this is the first time that Blizzard is asking feedback from players directly. This shows that the developers are committed to ensure that new hero additions or buffs/nerfs won’t drastically affect the game’s balance.

Brigitte PTR Nerfs

It seems that the dev team has already got some feedback. Brigitte may have only been out for a few days on the PTR servers, but she’s already been hit with some nerfs to her abilities.

Below are the changes in the latest PTR update:

Shield Bash

Added a small delay before her shield drops after a Shield Bash.

Added a vertical speed cap after Shield Bash.

Rocket Flail

Canceling a melee swing renders you unable to melee again until it would have completed had it not been canceled.

Ultimate cost increased by about 30 percent.

Decreased cooldown from two seconds to one-and-a-half seconds.

These changes are not yet final, and there will surely be more tweaks in the coming days (or even weeks) before Brigitte is released in the live Overwatch servers.
