Clutch Gamers enlist former Empire player Chappie

Clutch Gamers, the Malaysia-based organization known to sport an all-Filipino team, officially announced that former Team Empire player Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko is now part of their team.

“Welcome Chappie all the way from Russia and thank you Team Empire!” Clutch Gamers mentioned through a Facebook post. “Show some love to our new carry.”

Reportedly, Chappie will be replacing Jun “Bok” Kanehara. While Bok joined Clutch Gamers just last Sept 2017 as an offlaner, Chappie will be entering the team as the Position 1. Their then-carry player Jio “Jeyo” Madayag will now be relegated to the offlane.

After the Post-TI7 shuffle, Clutch Gamers weren’t able to find much success in the Southeast Asian region. They faltered from all of the Dota Minor and Dota Major Qualifier by far — they may have reached top ranks or even the finals of a SEA Qualifier, but they haven’t ended as champions themselves.

Meanwhile, Team Empire with Chappie also haven’t been successful, being ousted constantly in CIS Qualifiers for Dota Minors and Majors. However, they did prevail against Penta eSports in the recently concluded ASUS ROG EMEA (Europe and Middle East Asia) Finals.

The roster so far for Clutch Gamers will be (all members are Filipino except Chappie):

Vladimir “Chappie” Kuzmenko
Armel Paul “Armel” Tabios
Jio “Jeyo” Madayag
Marvin “Boombacs” Rushton
Kenneth “Flysolo” Coloma
