ECS Season 3 NA League – Week 1 Recap

Week 1 of the Esports Championship Series (ECS) Season 3 North American Division has also ended, and it is SK Gaming atop the standings. Following SK is Renegades, Team Liquid, and OpTic Gaming. Here are the full standings at the end of the first week:

SK Gaming’s top spot came off the back of a 1-1 split against OpTic Gaming, along with a 2-0 against Bee’s Money Crew. SK’s series against BMC actually had a close first game, with the team winning on overtime 19-17; the second game was a stomp though, as SK won 16-5.

Renegades and Team Liquid meanwhile had 6 points each, with the two teams winning their respective series against Luminosity Gaming and OpTic Gaming. The two teams at the bottom of the standings, BMC and Luminosity, both lost their Bo2s, but they still have chances to come back, especially as they both played only one series.

OpTic’s 6 points may seem decent at first glance, but they’re performance actually wasn’t good, seeing as they played three matches in week 1. OpTic had a 1-1 result against SK and Counter Logic Gaming, and they lost 0-2 to Team Liquid.

The rest of the teams – Immortals, CLG, and Cloud 9 split their respective series 1-1. NRG Esports meanwhile, were the only team not to have a match in week 1.

Week two of the ECS NA league will start on April 26, at 6:00am PHT.
