Posted by Martin Patino October 31, 2018

ASUS has officially launched the much-anticipated ROG Phone in the Philippines. The company’s first gaming smartphone, which was initially unveiled at Computex 2018 in Taiwan earlier this year, was launched locally at the 2018 Electronic Sports and Gaming Summit last weekend.

In a statement released to the press, ASUS Philippines Country Manager George Su said:

“The mobile gaming landscape in the country continues to expand aggressively, giving birth to numerous professional eSports teams dedicated solely to mobile gaming. We’ve supported this growth with ASUS’ mobile products that cater to mobile gamers, starting with the ZenFone Max Pro M1. We take this support one step further with the ultimate gaming smartphone for hardcore mobile gamers, the ROG Phone; a testament to our tireless commitment to empower the local mobile eSports scene.”

The ROG phone features top-of-the-line specifications as well as several features that helps really classify it as a gaming smartphone. Equipped with what the company calls AirTriggers, they give users virtual shoulder buttons, increasing the usability of the phone when it comes to games.

The new smartphone also comes with a whole slew of accessories designed to improve not only the phone’s gaming experience but also it’s overall usability as well. Some of the ROG Phone’s accessories include the AeroActive Cooler, which comes with the ROG Phone by defult, the Professional Dock, a Mobile Desktop Dock, a WiGig Display Dock and accompanying Gamevice controller, and the TwinView Dock.

The ASUS ROG Phone is priced at PHP 49,995 for the 8GB/128GB variant and PHP 61,995 for the 8GB/512GB model. These variants include the phone itself, an ROG Phone case, the AeroActive cooler, a USB Type-C cable, and a USB Type-C charging adapter.

The ROG Phone can also be purchased with all of its accessories as well as an ROG suitcase to carry them all in for PHP 108,465 (8GB/128GB) and PHP 120,465 (8GB/512GB).
