Mr. Prince Charming from Final Fantasy XV, Noctis Lucis Caelum, is now coming to Tekken 7 as downloadable content. Earlier today, Bandai Namco announced that the DLC will be available for the fighting game in March 2018. The news first broke during the finals of the Tekken World Tour in San Francisco, a tournament that has been taking the eSports world by storm since the release of Tekken 7 in June of this year.
From the official announcement trailer, Noctis can be seen weilding his trademark Engine Blade. He can also utilize his magic powers. In addition to the character, a new Final Fantasy XV stage was also introduced.
Legions of Tekken fans all the world are going crazy on Twitter over the announcement. Interestingly enough, this announcement came less than 24 hours after NetherRealm revelead that they will be including the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming to Injustice 2 as playable DLC characters. Just like this surprising announcement, fans of Injustice 2 had no idea that the TMNT were coming to the game.
This is not the first time that Square Enix characters have crossed over to different game universes. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U got Final Fantasy 7’s Cloud Strife back in 2015, for example. That announcement happened exactly two years ago from today.
Tekken 7 is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Since its release, Tekken 7 has sold over 1 million copies and topped sales charts in the process. Bandai Namco is now aiming to keep fans playing through releasing new DLC characters periodically. The same thing can be said of Final Fantasy XV, which released all over the world last October after a decade of development. While you’re waiting for the Noctis DLC to be released, you can wet your appetite with the upcoming Geese Howard DLC releasing in December. Geese Howard is a popular character from the Fatal Fury and King of Fighters franchises.
