Posted by Ram Ronquillo on May 13, 2019

Three days into the League of Legends 2019 Mid-Season Invitational Main Event Group Stage and the reigning world champions are looking as sharp as ever!

The team from the Chinese League of Legends Pro League, Invictus Gaming has shown to be up to par against even the best of the other regions after keeping their undefeated record of 6-nil after three days. This record includes breaking the world record for the fastest game in Riot Games’ international competition after dismantling the Korean team, SK Telecom T1 in 16 minutes and 1 second.

Many expected the Chinese team to be among the top, if not the top, of the Group Stage but their performance has shown just how well they can finish games. While many expect the mid-laner Song “Rookie” Ui-jin or top laner Kang “TheShy” Seung-lok to be the star players of the team, the other players like AD Carry, Yu “JackeyLove” Bo Yu and Jungler, Gao “Ning” Zhen-Ning have also stepped up their performance throughout the three days.

Along with Invictus Gaming, European team, G2 Esports have also impressed in their performance thus far holding second place behind the Chinese team. Their 4-2 record includes two wins over the Koreans in both the first and second round robin.

While the Europeans fell to the hometown favorites, the Vietnamese team, Phong Vũ Buffalo in their first meeting yesterday, the star-studded roster from Europe will surely look to bounce back and hold on to their spot.

Both the team from Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau, Flash Wolves and the North American squad Team Liquid are tied in fourth with a 2-4 record.

Team Liquid slipped down to fourth after losing four straight games in both Day 2 and 3 of the Main Event despite a strong 2-0 start to the Main Event. While Flash Wolves have slowly found their footing as they bounced back from a 0-2 start in Day 1, finding wins against the Vietnamese team and the North Americans.

With only two more days of action in the Main Event, Invictus Gaming will look to close out the Group Stage on top of the table with a 10-0 record. While the rest of the teams continues to bustle their way to secure the top four finish. Each win will count, especially for Team Liquid and Flash Wolves.

The battle for fourth between the two teams will be what a lot of people will keep their eyes on. Both Team Liquid and Flash Wolves had mixed performances so far and Phong Vũ Buffalo has shown to be able to take games against event the top of the group and may just prove to be the decider.
