League of Legends MSI 2017 Play-In draw results

The groups of the 2017 Mid-Season Invitational Play-In stage have been drawn and are set in stone.

With MSI 2017 just around the corner, the teams that will compete in the Play-In stage are filling in and currently they know who they’ll be facing in the Group Stage. The Draw was done live last Wednesday, April 19.

Seeding was done by drawing the teams from two pools into the two groups. The regions were placed into the pools based on their previous performances. Pool 1 had Brazil, CIS, Southeast Asia, and Turkey while Pool 2 had Japan, Oceania, Latin America North, and Latin America South.

Watch the live draw below:

The draw results have Brazil, Oceania, Turkey, and Japan in Group A and CIS, LAN, Southeast Asia, LAS in Group B. More specifically the groups look like this:

Group A:

CBLOL’s Red Canids

OPL’s Dire Wolves

TCL (Champions TBD Finals on 4/22)

LJL’s Rampage

Group B:

LCL’s Virtus.pro

LLN’s Lyon Gaming

GPL’s Gigabyte Marines

CLS’s Isurus Gaming

Group A is still waiting to find out who the representative from Turkey will be because the Finals will be played out on April 22.

The teams from the ‘Wildcard regions’ are all relatively new with the exceptions of Japan’s Rampage, Latin America North’s Lyon Gaming, and Latin America South’s Isurus Gamin, which makes it hard to read which team will make it out of the Group Stage.

If there’s one thing to say, it will be an interesting first Play-In Stage and it all begins on April 29, Saturday at 2 AM (GMT+8, Philippine Time).
