2K has just announced the cover athletes for the next iteration of their prolific NBA sports simulation, NBA 2K20. First up, on the Standard and Deluxe Edition of the game, is Six-time NBA All-Star, three-time All-NBA First Team, three-time NBA All-Defensive Team and 2012 Olympic gold medalist Anthony Davis returning as the cover star. Davis has graced the game’s cover in 2016 on the Spike Lee produced NBA 2K16. Davis has also made the sports headlines recently with his blockbuster transfer to the LA Lakers joining fellow NBA All-Star and former 2K cover Athlete Lebron James.
Davis had this to say about his selection:
“I’m honored to be back representing NBA 2K. Being picked as the face of NBA 2K20 means the world to me, and I’m excited for the fans to experience the best sports simulation in the world this Fall.”
For the Legend Edition, Three-time NBA Champion, 13-time NBA All-Star, 2008 Olympic gold medalist and 2006 NBA Finals MVP Dwyane Wade given the honor this year. Dwyane Wade had an illustrious 16-year career in the NBA capturing the title with the Miami Heat three times and being one of the greatest athletes to put on the Heat Jersey. He retired from the NBA after the NBA
Wade was honored by the tribute stating:
“I’ve been blessed to spend 16 years of my life playing the game I love at the highest-level, and to culminate my career by joining NBA greats as an NBA 2K Legend Edition cover star makes me incredibly proud. These iconic players will grace the covers of NBA 2K20, marking the latest edition of the game that has defined basketball culture for over two decades. All editions of NBA 2K20 will be available worldwide on September 6, 2019.
