It seems like Hello Games isn’t quite done with releasing free updates for their game, No Man’s Sky. Their next major update titled Beyond has been revealed.
According to the announcement, Beyond is basically a 3-in-1 major update to the game. Hello Games have been hard at work in improving their game with every update with the Beyond update looking to be the biggest to date. The last big update was, of course, the NEXT update or Update/Version 1.5 which introduced multiplayer and expanded base building from the previous patches.
The first of the three updates have been announced and all they mention is No Man’s Sky Online. While it, on paper, sounds like they’ve gone full MMORPG, they mention that they don’t consider it to be an MMO. Specifically saying that it won’t require a subscription, won’t contain microtransactions, and will be free for all existing players. Instead, they look to bring a radically new social and multiplayer experience which empowers players all over the massive universe to meet and play together.
One can only wonder how Online will differ from the multiplayer that the NEXT update introduced. Along with this, we’re excited to see what the other two updates Beyond will bring.
Since the impressive NEXT update, Hello Games have introduced The Abyss and Visions update. The Abyss expanded the aquatic biomes that included more creatures, resources, base-building, additional story content, and a new underwater vehicle. While Visions expanded the number of biomes available which incorporated more abnormal flora and fauna on certain planets as well as the opportunity to collect resources and trophies from crash sites of freighters, alien bases, and fossilized creatures.
The Beyond update is set to be released in Summer 2019. Having experienced the NEXT update, the Beyond update truly piques interest.
