OPPO Launches R17 Pro in the Philippines
Posted by Martin Patino November 10, 2018

OPPO has officially launched its latest R-series smartphone in the Philippines. The R17 Pro is the first from the series to be released in the Philippines.

The R17 Pro features the same waterdrop display previously found on the company’s R9 and R9 Pro flagship smartphones, which features a very minimal notch at the top of the display. It’s almost end-to-end display, which has a screen-to-body ratio of 91.5%, measures 6.4-inches with a screen resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The screen is protected by corning Gorilla glass 6.

The rear of the phone is covered in glass and features a gradient design that reaches up to its metal frame. The gradient design, which comes in either a green or a spectrum from pink to blue, is meant to look like it’s shifting depending on how light hits it.

The R17 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core processor coupled with an Adreno 616 graphics chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 3,700mAh battery. It also features 128GB of internal storage, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and supports SuperVOOC charging. It also comes with OPPO’s ColorOS 5.2 UI, which is based on Android 8.1 Oreo.

The rear camera system of the R17 Pro features three cameras that include a 12-megapixel sensor, 20-megapixel sensor, and a new TOF camera that is used for depth sensing and taking 3D photos. On the front, the R17 Pro is equipped with a 25-megapixel camera that comes with AI-assisted beautification and other features.

The OPPO R17 Pro will be priced at PHP 38,990 and is already available for pre-order from November 8 to 23. The new smartphone will officially release on November 24.
