Five Must-Play Nintendo Switch Games from 2019
Posted by cmsadminGG December 30, 2019

2019 was a great year for video games, with a plethora of new titles, long-awaited sequels, excellently-done remakes or remasters, and more. There was almost never a shortage of games to play on every platform, with many of them offering experiences that people will remember for years to come. We take a look back at some of the most notable games that came out this year for the Nintendo Switch that we think you should definitely check out, if you already haven’t.

Here are five must-play games on the Switch from 2019:

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

As the first game in the series for the Nintendo Switch, there was a lot of excitement and high expectations for Three Houses. Fortunately, the 13th original entry in the franchise proved to be both a critical and financial success. It’s popularity can be easily seen by the engagement of its fans online and it’s considered by many as one of the best games to come out in 2019 not just for the Switch but among video games in general.

The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening

The remake of Link’s Awakening, considered one of the best games in the series, was quite a surprise when it was announced earlier this year. It introduced completely new visuals while still retaining the same top-down perspective and gameplay as the original. It also features elements from the remaster Link’s Awakening DX. The remake of Link’s Awakening is definitely a title that even non-Zelda fans should check out.

Ring Fit Adventure

Wii Fit was a great success for the Nintendo Wii and it’s great that Nintendo finally released something similar for the Nintendo Switch this year. Ring Fit Adventure combines two new accessories and the JoyCon motion controls to create a new experience for players to experience. While the game’s main mode surprisingly involves a turn-based RPG, there are also fitness and party modes for players to enjoy with their friends and family.

Luigi’s Mansion 3

Luigi’s Mansion is one of the most beloved series from Nintendo and its third installment, Luigi’s Mansion 3, was released just a few months ago. The latest entry in the series introduces a less linear, more open-ended style of gameplay, allowing players more opportunities for exploration around the game’s setting. Luigi’s Mansion 3 also incorporates Gooigi into the game and its mechanics, which opens up more ways to tackle the game’s battles and puzzles.

Pokemon Sword & Shield

Pokemon Sword and Shield are the latest entries in the long-running mega franchise and first installments of the series’ eighth generation. Arguably one of the series’ more controversial releases due to the removal of the National Pokedex for its launch. While there’s still hope that more Pokemon from previous generations make a return, the game is still great regardless and has been received mostly positively since its release.
