With just less than a week until the launch of Hearthstone’s latest expansion, Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, we’ve seen almost every card from the past few days’ card reveals. But the show’s not over yet, because we at GG Network in collaboration with AKG Games Philippines have brewed up a card reveal of our own, and fans of the Priest class are going to like this one.
With the help of award-winning mural artist and conservationist A.G. Saño, we’ve snuck the new card’s details into a mural in an undisclosed location in EDSA, Manila. You can check out the official card reveal and the making of the mural in the video below:

Idol of Y’Shaarj is an 8-mana Epic rarity Priest Spell that summons a 10/10 copy of a random minion in your deck. While the upcoming expansion’s iteration of the Old God, Y’Shaarj, the Defiler relies on the new keyword Corrupted to fill your board with minions, Idol of Y’Shaarj takes a page from the classic Y’Shaarj, Rage Unbound’s playbook by summoning a copy of a minion from your deck.
With the most dominant Priest decks in Ranked mode being Highlander, Resurrect, and Control decks, Idol of Y’Shaarj almost feels like a no-brainer addition to these archetypes. An 8-mana 10/10 minion already makes for a pretty good Turn 8, but when you build your deck around summoning minions from the deck onto the board, you can achieve some powerful combos from your summoned minion’s effects. Just imagine summoning a 10/10 Darkmoon Rabbit to take out three big enemy minions at once, or even just a 10/10 Stonetusk Boar that you can Charge right into the opponent’s face. Even Dragon Priest decks ought to have a copy of the Spell, as it might just give you a 10/10 Evasive Wyrm when you need it the most.
Another important thing to note about Idol of Y’Shaarj, is that its worst-case scenario will still always result in a 10/10 copy of a minion for 8 Mana. If you end up summoning a crucial Battlecry minion in your deck, you won’t have to worry about losing its Battlecry effect because it’s just a copy; you’ll still have a chance to trigger its Battlecry when you draw it later on. The Spell can also result in summoning a Spellburst minion like Cabal Acolyte or High Abbess Alura, whose effects you can trigger quickly with some low-cost Priest Spells. And even if you still end up summoning a no-effect, vanilla minion (which your deck probably wouldn’t have), it’s still a 10/10.
Overall, it’s an awesome new card that we’re glad to have had the privilege of revealing. Its power level feels balanced and the fact that it summons a copy instead of the minion itself makes its effect a little better than the Y’Shaarj we’re used to. We’re surely going to see a lot of this Idol in Ranked mode once Madness at the Darkmoon Faire launches.
