In a surprising turn of events, Digital Chaos announced yesterday that they have released their The International 2016 2nd placer lineup and have acquired the members of Team OnyxDigital Chaos Co-founder Thomas Hancock revealed that the former members of Digital Chaos have mutually agreed that they will become independent players.

“The current roster and DC have mutually agreed that the time was right for them to go on and do their own thing. We’ve had massive success with that team. We wish Misery, Resolut1on, Saksa, W33, Moonmeander, Alyssa and William all the best!” wrote Thomas Hancock through Digital Chaospress release.

In a similar situation, Founder and former co-owner of Digital Chaos Shannon “SUNSfan” Scotte announced that he officially left the organization last April 6. However, he mentioned that he cannot disclose any information regarding the matter. “I cannot go into details on this matter. I remain just as excited about Dota 2 and esports and will continue to pursue this passion in both current and yet to be announced projects. Thank you for your continued support,” he said.

Here are the members of Digital Chaos heading into Kiev Major:

Mason “mason” Venne
Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop
Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale
Kim “DuBu” Doo-young
Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho

Valve will honor the change of banner where these players will play under — as members of Team Onyx, these five players played together and qualified for the Kiev Major through the North America Qualifier.

Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen, former captain of the Digital Chaos squad, confirmed that they will be playing under an independent banner heading into the Major. These five player, while under Digital Chaos, were directly invited to the Kiev Major. “Saksa, Resolt1on, w33, Moonmeander, and myself have mutually agreed to leave DC and become an independent team going into the Kiev major. We are grateful for all DC has done for us and are proud of our accomplishments with them. We will be in Kiev under our new team name the “Thunderbirds” as well as attending The Summit 7 in May. We wish DC and their new team, the former “Onyx” lineup, all the best,” MiSeRy revealed.

The members of Thunderbirds will effectively be:

Roman “Resolu1tion” Fominok
Aliwi “w33” Omar
