Posted by Donna Almonte August 17, 2020

Mobile gamers, rejoice! Last August 15, the ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) finally announced the arrival of the ROG Phone 3! The king of gaming smartphones will be available this August 22, 2020. There are many reasons why the ROG Phone 3 is crowned as one of the best gaming smartphones in the world.

Gaming changing specs: ROG PHONE 3

If you think that mobile gaming will always lag behind PC gaming, think again—these specs pack a powerful punch. As someone who’s experienced tons of frustrations with mobile gaming—namely, heavy data downloads, non-responsive touches, and heating problems—this phone seems to solve all that and then some. It’s a lot faster than your average computer (and it’s 4 times more than the 4 GB of RAM powering my laptop).

  • Powered with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+, together with up to 16GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage
  • Stunning 144 Hz rate AMOLED display with 1ms response time with its industry-leading 270 Hz touch-sampling rate, decreasing touch latency for fast-paced games
  • Immersive GameFX Audio system from Dirac
  • Massive 6000 mAH battery storage with fast-charging capability
  • Additional 5G capable connectivity and WiFi 6 compatibility so that mobile gamers can enjoy lag-free gaming whether at home or on the go
  • The new and improved AirTrigger 3 also brings new features with dual partition buttons, and enhanced touch-sensor approaches
  • The ROG Phone 3 also comes with a flagship level Sony IMX686 64MP high resolution camera, 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 1.6 macro lens along with a 24MP front high-resolution camera

Leveled up ROG Phone 3 gaming accessories

If you’re excited about the ROG Phone 3, then you’re in for a treat with the all-new set of ROG Phone 3 accessories. There’s the Lighting Armor Case that supports Aura lighting. The Kunai Gamepad 3 now has more buttons and has improved its portability with a detachable grip. Next, the TwinView Dock 3 has also been upgraded, now in an even better 144 Hz display. Lastly, the new ROG Clip now lets you use your favorite gaming console controller and connect it to your ROG Phone 3. (Neat!)

No need to fret if you’ve purchased the accessories from the previous generations: ROG Phone 3 is compatible with most of the past accessories. (Check out this chart!)

While the accessories mentioned above are separate purchases, each phone comes with the updated Aero Case and the newly designed AeroActive Cooler 3. It has better cooling performance (including a kickstand), and Type C to 3.5mm Audio Jack dongle all included in the box.
